Hello GVST Families, 

We are writing to provide you with an update on our planned 2020 GVST Swim Season. Please complete a short questionnaire on this Google form no later than May 18th. Your responses are important as we continue to plan for our season. Your prompt response is appreciated.

Changes to Swim Season Protocol:

Green Valley’s pools remain closed due to the continuing public health situation. To provide social distancing and adhere to public health guidelines, we are planning several changes to our normal practice procedures when the pools reopen:

• All swimmers must be able to make it across the 25 yard length of the pool unassisted. Coaches will not be able to be in the water helping swimmers. If your swimmer cannot swim across the pool at this time, please request a refund on the form.
• We will not be able to offer evening practices this summer. All summer practice times will be in the morning and early afternoon.
• Rather than have one practice followed immediately by the next, we are planning to add a 15 minute buffer between practice sessions. This buffer should allow one group of swimmers to exit the pool, dry off and leave the area before the next group of swimmers arrives.

• With the need to have fewer swimmers in the pool, it is likely that swimmers will be restricted to swimming less than five days per week.

• We are considering grouping similarly aged siblings to increase the number of kids who can swim simultaneously during practice. Please indicate on the Google form if you would be interested in doing this.

• We are considering extending the season into August to help offset the late start. Again, please let us know your interest in swimming into August on the Google form.
• We do not anticipate being able to hold swim meets this season.

Fees/Requests for Refunds:

• Due to the addition of the 15 minute buffers and the possibility that we may extend into August, GVST will not be prorating fees for any reduction in the number of weeks this season.

• Given the ongoing uncertainty, GVST is willing to provide a full refund of all fees until May 18th.
• Between May 18th and the first day of swim practice, any cancellations, regardless of reason, will result in the deduction of a $50 processing fee per swimmer. (15-18 year old swimmers will not receive a refund in this case.)
• There will be no refunds following the first day of swim practice.
• Please indicate your preference via the Google form.
