GVST Update, 5/24/21
Hello GVST Families,
Here is some important info, as we look forward to our first swim meet, our intersquad Dolphin Classic, on Saturday, June 5th.
Meet sign-ins
Meet sign-in for swimmers is now open for all meets. Swimmers competing must be signed in by the Wednesday evening before a meet. If you know your availability for the season, go ahead and check your swimmer(s) in for every meet they are available.

- Go to “Meets & Events” tab.
- Select meet, ie. Dolphin Classic, June 5th.
- Select green “MEET ENTRY” button on the right.
- Select blue “EDIT” button.
- Next to each child’s name is a drop down box, select: ”attending” or “not attending”.
- Select blue SAVE button.
- Select blue link BACK to SWIM MEETS.
- Repeat steps for all swim meets.

Swim Meet Expectations and Preparation
Here are some Expectations for Swim Meets:
- Please be respectful of our neighbors, and do not block driveways or park in front of fire hydrants. If you have room in your vehicle for a wagon, many families use those to cart all of their gear to the greenbelt.
- All swimmers swimming in any meet must check in at the front gate of the pool at their designated time
- 1st shift workers check in at 7.30 am at the meet manager table in the greenbelt
- 2nd shift workers check-in at 11:00 am
- Please do not leave your post until your replacement arrives while transitioning 1st shift to 2nd shift
- No parents on deck other than volunteers doing jobs
- Job sign-ups will be finalized and closed on the website as of June 1st. Anyone not showing up for a designated job or finding a replacement will be fined $100.00.
What to Bring/wear to a Meet:
- thin towels with your name on them (at least 2 per swimmer is recommended)
- EZ-up for shade
- chairs for each person in your group
- sunscreen
- 2 goggles (it’s good to have a backup pair)
- swim cap
- competition swimsuit
- games to play
- hat to cover face and head
- flip flops
- $ to buy food, snacks, etc. at food booth
Suggestions:
- Make sure that you put sunscreen on FIRST, then let it dry before your swimmers check in. Swimmers will get a 4 digit number and their name written in Sharpie on their arm. If you put on sunblock after the Sharpie it will smear the writing, so sunblock first.
- Download the free Swimtopia app on your phone, and login using the email and password you used to register for the team. This app lists your swimmer’s events and your volunteer jobs, and will eventually list your swimmer’s best times for each event.
Singers Needed for National Anthem at home meets
If there are any swimmers interested in singing the National Anthem at one of our home meets, please email: [email protected].
Teen Volunteers
We have a list of teen workers who you can hire for $30 to cover volunteer shifts, on our website, under the Meets and Events tab. You must be signed in to the website in order to access this page. After arranging with one of the teens to cover your shift, please send an email to [email protected] with the name of the teen worker and which shift he or she is covering. The teen workers are paid $30 for each shift.
- If it is for the Dolphin Classic, please drop off the envelope in the GVHRA mail slot. (10739 Los Jardines West) before the meet.
- If it's for a meet after the Dolphin Classic, you can drop off the money at the meet manager table at the Dolphin Classic, in an envelope with the teen worker's name on it, your name, and the meet date and shift that will be covered.
